Description
One box, six rolls, 450 metres of foil in total.
At 450mm wide, these are the jumbo rolls, not the domestic size. Wide enough to cover a full gastronorm tray in one pass without joining two sheets, which saves time on a busy service and means fewer gaps for heat to escape.
The gauge is 12-micron aluminium, the standard catering weight. It tears cleanly off the box, moulds around trays and dishes, and holds its shape once folded.
Food contact compliance
This foil is confirmed food grade on the specification sheet and is made in compliance with:
- Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food
- Regulation (EC) 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practice for food contact materials
- ISO 9001
As with any food contact material, it is the purchaser’s responsibility to confirm the product suits the end use on their own site. The full specification sheet is free to download above, so you can drop it straight into your due diligence file when an auditor asks.
Where it gets used
Kitchens, prep rooms and cold stores mostly. Typical jobs include:
- Covering trays and gastronorms for holding or transport
- Lining roasting tins
- Wrapping portions before they go into the chiller or freezer
- Sealing dishes for reheating
- Keeping plated food warm during service
It is stocked across three of our areas: food industry supplies, hospitality and breweries and dairies, because the same box ends up in a hotel kitchen, a food production unit and a brewery canteen.
Storage
Keep boxes somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sun and away from heat sources. Foil stored next to a hot line or under a window will soften and cling to itself on the roll.
The box weighs 5.7kg, so it sits comfortably on a shelf without needing a low store. If you are ordering by the pallet, that is 110 boxes.
